Drink Plenty of Water

"If the human body consumes 16 ounces of water in a given hour, the metabolic rate will spike by as much as 30% for the next 30 to 40 minutes. By committing to drinking half your body weight in ounces of water each day (or aim for that gallon), research says you can expect to lose more weight."

Portion Control

"Use smaller dishes at meals. Serve food in the right portion amounts, and don't go back for seconds. Put away any leftovers in separate, portion-controlled amounts. Consider freezing the portions you likely won't eat for a while."

Get Some Rest

"The more ghrelin you produce, the more you stimulate hunger while also reducing the amount of calories you burn (your metabolism) and increasing the amount fat you store. In other words, you need to control leptin and ghrelin to successfully lose weight, but sleep deprivation makes that nearly impossible."
